Marsh Marigold (Caltha Palustris)


  • Hardiness: Zones 3-11
  • Height: Grows to a height of about 8” – 20”.
  • Flower:      these buttercup relatives have masses of large, golden cup-shaped      flowers
  • Bloom time: April and      May.
  • Foliage: large, shiny leaves which are round or kidney      shaped. It has smooth, hollow stems coming from coarse, fleshy roots.
  • Comments: Like many other members of the buttercup family, the species contains a blistering sap, which can be dangerous.
