Tsurumi Pumps

Tsurumi pumps are world-renowned for their quality, dependability and performance. This line of pumps has been designed to be hydraulically “dialed” into the typical lower head water garden applications. This helps ensure that the pump is performing in its ideal operating range resulting in less vibration and wear and tear on the pump, ultimately resulting in longer pump life. They are available in both the horizontal (PL) and the upright (PN) styles

Hakko Air Pump Magnets

The magnet is the part that moves back and forth with the diaphragm. It holds the diaphragm secure and vice a versa. Typically the magnet is very long lasting. However if you run the air pump with bad diaphragms for extended periods you could wear down the magnet. If you open the motor for repair and you find dust or small metal particles you may need to replace the magnet. Always inspect the magnet for wear and tear when you replace your diaphragms. They are very easy to replace.

Rain Water Harvesting System

Benefits of Reusing Rainwater

Why let good water go to waste when you can reuse it for another purpose? The benefits of harvesting rainwater are numerous, but some of the more prominent advantages include:

  • Reduce water bills including city storm sewer charges
  • Alleviate demand on municipal systems
  • Avoid strict watering schedules
  • Improved landscape growth
  • Reduce flooding and erosion
  • Efficient use of a valuable resource – water

Did You Know

  • One inch of rainfall on a 2,000 square foot residential roof generates 1,250 gallons of water that can be reused.
  • That same roof in a region receiving 30 inches of annual rainfall generates 41,000 gallons of reusable water.
  • The average U.S. household with a 10,000 square foot lot uses up to 3,000 gallons of water weekly for landscape irrigation.
  • Running a sprinkler for 2 hours can use up to 500 gallons of water.
  • Seventy percent of water used at home is used outdoors.
  • 66,175 gallons of water are used outdoors per household, per year.

RainXChange Downspout Filter

Place the Downspout Filter under the end point of your eavestrough so the water runs into the filter. The filter will filter out debris off of your roof, to prevent it from running into your water storage area.

The Downspout filter is connected to your underwater storage area.

Booster Pump

The Booster Pump is used to transfer water from your water storage area to your garden, flower bed, or lawn, wherever you choose to water. The pump Booster comes in 2 sizes:

EPDM Liner – Cut Sizes

45 mil EPDM Fish Safe Liner –

We will cut liner to the length you require. Provide us with your pond dimensions, and we will help you calculate the size of liner you need.

One of your liner dimensions should be divisible by 5, as liner stock comes in incremental widths of 5′, starting with the 10′ wide liner. We will not cut the liner width.

Easy and inexpensive to install. Won’t crack like concrete. Rugged and flexible. 20 year warranty. Cover with rocks and gravel to expand the life expectancy indefinitely.

Underlayment Geo-textile

  • Protect your liner by installing a barrier fabric underneath it, to protect sharp rocks and other objects from puncturing the liner.
  • This soft, non-woven geotextile made from polypropylene will last 20+ years under your liner.
  • Comes in a 15′ width, and can be cut to any length.

Note: The underlay fabric will wick water from your pond to the ground if you are installing it OVER your liner and if it is allowed to touch the surrounding soil.  Always ensure that the edges of the geotextile do not come in contact with the surrounding soil when you are using it under this circumstance.

Overlay Geotextile

Protect your liner by installing a barrier fabric on top of the liner to protect sharp rocks, animal hoof puncture and other objects from from puncturing the liner.  We recommend ‘sandwiching’ your liner by using the underlayment fabric beneath the liner, and the overlay fabric on top of the liner. It is very difficult to find a puncture or a leak in your pond AFTER you have added all the rocks to the pond.

  • This geotextile will last 20+ years over your liner
  • Material is light weight and will float in water if it is not weighted down.
  • Comes in a 12′ width, and can be cut to any length.

Check Valves

The Aquascape Dual Union Check Valve provides a professional pump and plumbing connection inside the skimmer filter system, as well as the Pondless Waterfall vaults. The heavy-duty swing style  check valve flapper maximizes water flow through the valve when open, while preventing the back flow of water  when the pump is shut off or during a power outage. Union connections on both sides of the valve make pump  and filter  maintenance quick and easy without the use of tools. A set of reversible fittings takes the guess work of finding the right pump or filter fitting and allows the extension of valve height for the taller filter applications. Choose from either a 2″ Dual union check valve or a 3″ CVA check valve.

Evolution Floating Fountain

The Evolution Series fountain was developed from three basic ideas: simple to assemble and maintain, low cost to operate, and patterns that look great. This evolution of ideas brought about a fountain that has four main parts (float, suction screen, throat, and motor), a cost to operate of approximately five cents per hour, and spray patterns that rival most large scale fountains.

    Hakko Air Pump Diaphragm Kit

The diaphragms in a Hakko air pump should be replaced every 1-2 years for optimum utilization. The rebuild diaphragm kits are simple to install. They include diaphragms to fix both sides.

Note: If your diaphragms are blowing out frequently, you most likely have an excess back pressure problem in your design. Check that your air delivery hose is large diameter and no kinking is occurring. Check your air diffusers for clogging. Ceramic style air stones need cleaning with muriatic acid every 3 months typically. Check that the number of air diffusers is sufficient to handle the air output of your Hakko pump. Too few diffusers will create excess back pressure.

    Vertex Remote Valve Box Systems

It’s Cheaper to Pipe Air than Electric. No power near the pond? No problem. Vertex’s line of Remote Valve Box Systems allows installation of the cabinet wherever it is convenient.

Simply locate the system cabinet where you do have power and deliver the air as far as needed through 1″ PVC pipe. At the shoreline of the pond simply install a Vertex Remote Valve Box to divide the air into separate airlines. This will save the thousands of dollars in unnecessary costs.

    MICROBE-LIFT / Barley Straw Pellets

MICROBE-LIFT/Barley Straw Pellets + works in much the same way as barley straw…only faster!  Whereas barley straw works by releasing certain natural chemicals as it biodegrades, so do the pellets in MICROBE-LIFT/Barley Straw Pellets +, only the breakdown compounds are released faster: dispersing equally throughout the water; reacting photochemically with sunlight; and activating humic acids to produce hydrogen peroxide-an oxidizing agent that also helps to keep the water clear-naturally and at a low level of release. The humic acid will also chelate metals such as copper or arsenic.

“Oxygen is the most important element for life.  All aquatic life forms require oxygen. From the fish down to the bacteria any body of water has what is called an “oxygen demand”. Of all the essential elements in water, oxygen is also in the shortest supply. The air we breathe is 21% oxygen. Water can only hold about 8 parts per million (mg/liter) or 0.0008% at 20 degrees Celsius. Oxygen does not like water. It does not take long for oxygen to be depleted; it is our job to make sure it is replenished continuously. Our fish depend on us. Read the rest of this entry »

    Duck Weed

Duckweed tend to be associated with fertile, even eutrophic conditions. They can be spread by waterfowl and small mammals, transported inadvertently on their feet and bodies as well as by moving water. Duckweed is an important high-protein food source for waterfowl and also is eaten by humans in some parts of the world as it contains more protein than soybeans. The tiny plants provide shelter cover for many aquatic species. The plants are capable of absorbing excess mineral nutrients, particularly nitrogen and phosphates. Duckweed prefer high-nutrient wetland environments, such as sloughs. Often mistaken for algae on a pond. Scoop up some of the plant and if you see tiny little roots – its duckweed.

    String Algae

This plant is only being added as many new pond owners do not know what this is. It grows on rocks and plants, as well as any other surface it can attach itself to. Most pond owners like to eliminate it from their pond, as if it is allowed to grow unchecked, it will envelop plants and fish.

    • Height: 8″ – 12″
