About Us

Aqualine Aquatic Plants and Waterfeatures is a family owned business, owned and operated by Jeannie and Hugh Suffern. Aqualine Aquatic Plants & Waterfeatures is located in Strathcona County, just 6 miles south of Sherwood Park, Alberta.

Jeannie Suffern became interested in Aquatic plants when her husband (Hugh) first started his water garden construction business in 1990. She decided to start growing and selling aquatic plants to stock the ponds her husband was building. That was the beginning of Jeannie’s fascination with aquatic plants. Now, Aqualine specializes in the growing of aquatic plants which will survive the Alberta winters, as well as the cultivation of a wide variety of tropical aquatic plants, (including tropical water lilies), in addition to providing the “A-Z’s” of water gardening for the pond enthusiast. Hugh Suffern’s fascination with water led to the start of Aqualine Waterfeatures in 1990. Because of his expertise in this field, he started getting questions about how to build ponds, which led to the start of Aqualine. Hugh has had over 30 years experience in the design and creation of waterfeatures, for residential & commercial projects, and for both indoor and outdoor applications.
